King Of  The Wing Roars Into WVSO For 2016

WENATCHEE, Wash. (December 5, 2015) – The schedule is gearing up for the 2016 Season at Wenatchee Valley Super Oval and one of the most anticipated new events will be the King Of The Wing National Sprint Car Shootout Series “Thunder In The Valley” Sunday July 24, 2016.

“We’re really excited to have the King Of The Wing group come to Wenatchee this year. This should be a great event for the fans to enjoy with the speed and grip of WVSO.” Said WVSO General Manager George Wade “Over the last couple of years the King Of The Wing races have been some of the best events on the west coast for Winged Sprint Cars and I look forward to that continuing at Wenatchee.”

The series expanded to the Northwest last year with a race at Meridian Speedway and two races at Evergreen Speedway on both the 3/8th and 5/8th tracks. The series attracts some of the best Asphalt Sprint Car drivers on the West Coast. The 3 Northwest Races last year averaged 25 plus cars.

“The Series is really excited about going to Wenatchee this year.  Wenatchee is one of the nicest Quarter Mile tracks in the Country, this is sure to be one of the top races for us in 2016.” Said KOTW Series Promoter Davey Hamilton “With the speed, grip and banking we’re sure to see some amazing side by side racing, maybe even some new track records.”

The King of the Wing series is designed to work with all teams, promoters, fans and sponsors, to strengthen pavement winged sprint car racing from coast to coast, working directly with all existing pavement sprint car series. Long term plans for the series are to provide a competitive rules package that can apply to all sprint cars and create race events that truly allows the promoters and racers to build bigger venues, show the sponsors and fans the world’s fastest short track cars, and to promote some of the best short track drivers competing head-to-head no matter what part of the country they are from or what series they run on a regular basis. This is the only pavement sprint car series that features competitors from all across the United States and Canada. For more information on the King of The Wing series visit www.kingofthewing.net

The 2016 WVSO schedule will be coming out in the upcoming days. The “Thunder In The Valley” King of the Wing event will be one of 15 feature events this year at WVSO along with the Leonard Evans 150, Neal Newberry 150, Monsters In The Valley and many more.
